The Flag Code of India was first established in 2002 and amended in 2022, allowing citizens to proudly fly the National Flag at their homes, offices, and institutions on all days.

Strengthens unity, integrity and pride of our nation.

The Five Principles of Flag Code

  1. 1The National Flag is a symbol of our sovereignty and unity.
  2. 2It must always be treated with respect and dignity.
  3. 3It should not be used for any decoration or commercial purpose.
  4. 4It must be displayed in the prescribed manner.
  5. 5It should never touch the ground or be damaged.
